If you’ve spent any time walking pastures, creek beds, or freshly turned soil around Round Top, or anywhere across Fayette, Washington, Austin, Colorado, and Lee Counties, you’ve probably heard someone say it (or lived it): “It’s not unusual to find arrowheads out here.”
And it’s true.
This part of Texas has a way of quietly revealing its history, especially after a good rain.
What people casually call “arrowheads” are more than interesting finds. Across this entire region, they’re tangible connections to thousands of years of human life along this landscape: tools shaped by hand, used for survival, trade, and daily life long before fence lines, county roads, or antique tents ever appeared.
