Grover and Charlotte first bought Round Top property in about 1962. We have owned property near Round Top for over 40 years. First as typical Houstonian week-enders, then moving here permanently in 1987. Having experienced the area for some time, the shock of moving from one of the largest cities in Texas to one of the smallest was not extremely difficult.

Grover retired in 1987 after 31 years with IBM, where he enjoyed a successful career on large system computers. He now enjoys helping folks to find that perfect property in the country.

Charlotte was a private Piano Teacher until 1980. During that time she was a member and an officer in Treble Clef and Tuesday Music Club. She entered real estate in 1980.

Round Top Real Estate, formed in 1989, is committed to service in assisting folks in the purchase or sale of real estate. Our relaxed style has allowed us a steady growth and the added rewards of many friendships over the years.

Our goal is to treat our customers as we would like to be treated and in an unhurried, relaxed manner.

After receiving my real estate license in 1978, my career involved leasing office buildings in both Houston and Austin, listing and selling farm and ranch properties, as well as residential properties, in Hays and Travis counties, and now in Fayette county. In 1993, I moved to Round Top and in 1996 I joined Round Top Real Estate.

Since that time my husband Jim (Dr. James Ayres, retired University of Texas Professor) and I have spent quality time in England, France and Spain where Jim taught Shakespeare and I was able to study the local culture, as well as the property sales techniques and procedures of these countries.

In 1999, we bought a farmhouse in Rutersville (about 10 miles from Round Top), much to the delight of our 7 children and 13 grandchildren, who think the neighbors' cows are ours. We love it and it provides me with a good working knowledge of what it takes to live in the country.

My focus is on service to buyers and sellers and to the community at large: St. Paul's Lutheran in LaGrange, the DYD (Do Your Duty) Club in Round Top, the Midsummer Night at Winedale fundraising advisory council for UT's Shakespeare at Winedale (of which Jim is founding director), the Round Top Family Library Chili Cook-off fundraiser, Relay for Life cancer fundraiser, and Peru Future Seekers team which provides funds for children's education in Colique, Peru. I am also a graduate of Leadership Fayette County.

Lisa earned her BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M in 1986. Having grown up on a ranch, she has a true love of the land and a great appreciation of our area and its many advantages. She and her husband, Monty, and two children live in the Carmine area. Her background enables her to answer many questions from first hand experience and knowledge.

After living in the Texas Panhandle for a number of years, Mary and her husband, Gerald, moved to the Warda area in Fayette County, in 1982.

Mary's background in accounting was a good lead-in to getting a real estate license in 1983 and buying into a franchise real estate company with partner, Basil Schiavone. After selling that real estate company in 1991, Mary spent a short time working for the La Grange Chamber of Commerce before coming to work with us in Round Top in early 1993. Her familiarity with Fayette, Lee, and the surrounding counties and her love for helping people make real estate sales a natural for Mary.

Originally from Houston, Diane and her husband Charlie lived in El Paso for several years before building a home near Carmine. They and their granddaughter Maya settled in this area in part because of the excellent Round Top-Carmine I.S.D. Diane is active in local civic organizations, especially the Parents Club at RT-C schools.

Prior to obtaining her license Diane was our secretary for a couple of years giving her valuable insights into real estate. Her computer skills make her a real asset in finding the property of your choice or doing a market analysis in the event you are a seller. She has even handled listings for sellers who were working overseas and everything was handled via e-mail, fax, and phone.

Carole joined Round Top Real Estate in 2003. She and her husband, Dave, lived in Houston for 30 years before returning to Round Top in 1988.

Carole made history in 2002 becoming the first woman mayor of Round Top, succeeding her husband and Father-in-Law. Their years of service to Round Top, in all, were 47 years.

Carole has been very active in the community, serving on the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Council for two terms, DYD Club, Round Top Historical Society, Round Top Library Board, Round Top-Carmine School Advisory Board, and the Fayette County Fair Association. Carole loves meeting people and showing them all that Round Top and the surrounding area has to offer.

Frank, born in Houston, is no newcomer to the area. Having spent most weekends and summers here since 1962, when his parents purchased their property in Round Top. He has watched Round Top's popularity grow and has been part of its "living legacy."

Frank has become active in Round Top community life. He is President of the Round Top Chamber of Commerce, and is serving as a volunteer at the Round Top Children's Library working with "The Music Weavers," a children's choir.

When not involved in real estate, Frank is a musician. His band performs regularly in the Round Top area, as well as in Austin.

Frank's extensive knowledge of Round Top and nearby areas makes him a successful Realtor who serves his client's needs. An avid, very lucky fisherman, Frank can tell you where the fish are while showing you property!

Diane's real estate career spans for 34 years beginning in Shreveport, Louisiana. After 10 very successful years with J. Wesley Dowling & Associates, it was on to the "big" city, Houston.

For almost 20 years she had a super-successful association with first Saffold Realty in the Memorial area and then Century 21 Executive in the 1960 area.

Finally, in 2000, it was time to "escape" to Round Top. She is now a bonafide country girl! Her love of the outdoors and many years of real estate experience make for a winning combination for Round Top Real Estate.

Renee and her husband Matthew (pastor of a local church) moved to Round Top in 2000. She is active in her church and enjoys working with children. Reared in a family of outdoorsmen, she spent many hours on south Texas lakes. She loves bass fishing, hiking, bird watching & quiet hours with her husband.

Greg has resided and worked in the Fayette County area for the past 36 years. His previous experience in real estate with Round Top Real Estate and Fayette Land Company allows him to hit the floor running, so to speak. With involvement in the agricultural industry, (he owns V&N Supplements, which provides liquid feed supplements to the cattle industry, and he is also a Field Enumerator with the Texas office of U.S.D.A.), he can offer expertise and knowledge of the market area, particularly with farms, ranches, and acreage. Greg and his wife Sandra are active members of St. James Episcopal Church in LaGrange, where he is a member of its Men's Club and currently serves as the Jr. Warden on the Vestry. Sandra is employed with Fayette Savings Bank as an Assistant Vice President.
